Urban cellar door 5 O’Clock Somewhere is expanding its offering.
The Gilbert Street space features wines from its own vineyards, McLarenVale Wine Makers, and coffee roasted at its farm. Later this month the team will widen its repertoire with a wood-fired pizza oven at the back of the store.
“All of our products are made on the farm,” says owner Steve Grimley. “We’re going to be milling our own wheat for the flour and we have some Berkshire pigs ready.” In keeping with the venue’s locavore theme, the bar’s own creamery will even produce the cheese.
“We’ll be serving the pizza in boxes, no cutlery or plates, and takeaway will be the main focus,” Grimley says. “There will be added seating out back, though, to eat in.”
Patrons can enjoy a glass of the Sixty Seven Days Later, deemed “pizza wine”, an unfiltered Nero D’Avola, to accompany their slice.
