Adelaide Airport’s latest addition is all about “ingredients less travelled” – specifically, those grown or produced within 100 miles of the airport. The new kitchen and bar is, appropriately, called 100 Miles – a concept by Emirates Leisure Retail – and it opened on the weekend inside the recently expanded terminal.
The all-day spot is sourcing ingredients from producers in and around Adelaide including Beerenberg, Bickfords and Fleurieu Milk Company, as well as Adelaide Central Market stalls Lucia’s Fine Foods, Mushroom Man and The Mettwurst Shop. The drinks menu features beers from Pirate Life Brewing, spirits from Kangaroo Island Distillery, and a wide range of wines from the Barossa, McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley and Eden Valley.
On the menu, you might find a Spencer Gulf prawn sandwich made with zesty house-made tartare sauce and baby cos lettuce in a Riviera Bakery panini; a brioche burger with SA Angus beef patty, Barossa Valley 28-day dry-aged smoked bacon, house-made barbeque sauce made with 78 degrees whisky and all the trimmings; and Adelaide Hills free-range grilled chicken thigh in a Riviera Bakery panini with honey mustard dressing and green-apple-and-cabbage slaw. All served with shoestring fries. There’s also lighter snacks, brunch options, crisp pizzas and fresh salads for dine-in or takeaway.

“The shift of focus in both the airport space and the general Australian hospitality scene to locality, regionality and sustainability was a major driver – something that we recognise that not only our domestic passengers, but especially our international passengers, want as part of their travel experience,” Justin Scotti, Emirates Leisure Retail Australia/New Zealand managing director, said in a press release.
He plans to open more venues with the same philosophy in other ports around Australia and beyond.
100 Miles joins local brands Penfolds and Soho Coffee Roasters, plus other SA-focused eateries and shops like Southern Providore and The Pantry, inside the newly expanded concourse.
