Picture it. The weather is miserable, the clouds are grey and rain looks about to descend in the distance. The lure to head into the city is fading.

This is where the Hellbound Wine Club comes in. The to-your-door service will provide lovers of the Rundle Street basement bar with a taste of its carefully sourced drops at home.

“We want to provide a mixed dozen that is not just your wishy-washy $250 spend on a case of wine scenario,” says Hellbound owner Mark Reginato. He hopes to offer one pack per month, costing about $395 (plus $15 freight outside of SA).

“People like [Mount Barker winery] Ngeringa will be featured in there at some stage – and we’ll always mix it up.

“It’s like Hellbound at home.”

Reginato, who has more than a decade’s experience as a wine distributor with ConnectVines, and his business partner, winemaker and former sommelier Louis Schofield, will put together the list.

Reginato says there “is no end” to the wines that could be available, much like on the wine list at their cosy city venue.

“The offerings are always going to change. It’s a wine club offering some of our knowledge that [people] can enjoy at home.”

“Instead of somebody buying a dozen wines for the sake of it, we are putting some care and thought into what we are choosing and they will be wines – whites and reds – from all over the globe.”
