The Fleurieu Food Festival is coming back to the peninsula this August. The festival first started in 2022 and has been uniting the area’s best winemakers, cheesemakers, brewers, farmers and chefs ever since.

This year there’ll be more than 60 events. To save you from decision anxiety, here are four standouts to build your schedule around.

Crafta Pasta at Our Place

What could be more wholesome than a “crafternoon” spent with friends? A crafting session that comes with a serve of pasta made by a nonagenarian. Chef Carly Carter and Broadsheet writer Katie Spain will lead a playful afternoon of crafting food-and-wine-themed earrings, bangles, crowns and more. To fuel the crafting, each guest will be served a bowl of pasta made by Andy Clappis and his 92-year-old father, Enzo. There will also be wine from Katie Spain’s private collection.
Our Place, 1980 Brookman Road, Willunga, Fleurieu Peninsula
$70
11am to 2pm, Saturday August 16

Long Lunch at Pony at Moana

The teams from Prancing Pony Brewery, Emmalene Wines and The Still Co spirits are teaming up to create the ultimate Sunday lunch offering. Dishes will be prepared by the chefs from the Deep Blue Cafe. Beverage pairings begin with a glass of Emmalene sparkling pinot gris and finish off with a Blue Flower gin from The Still Co, with plenty of beers and wines in between.
Pony at Moana, 323 Esplanade, Moana

12pm to 3pm, every Sunday in August

Residential Culinary Weekend at Chapel Hill

Keen to step up your cooking skills and get some R&R? This weekend-long culinary experience is the event for you. Fleurieu Food & Wine’s founder Jackie Mazzucato is teaming up with Chapel Hill winery to run a two-night, residential cooking program. The program is designed to be beginner-friendly. Classes will range from stretching fresh mozzarella and mastering the art of pasta-making to cooking the perfect steak.
