Dumpling King, Bing's Chinese Restaurant and the Oriental Mart Supermarket are among several businesses on Grote and Moonta streets damaged in a fire in the CBD overnight.

The blaze prompted a smoke warning early this morning and those nearby were told to stay inside. There are no reports of injuries. Reports of the damage bill currently vary between $1.5 and $3.5 million.

Firefighters were on the scene within minutes after a passer-by called triple-0 to report smoke, the Advertiser reports. It took around 65 firefighters around one hour to bring the blaze under control.

Emergency services remain on-site and road restrictions are in place along Grote Street’s westbound lanes near the Central Market. Police are no longer treating the fire as suspicious.
