As more and more of us limit our daily radius to couch, kitchen and bed, Adelaide Central Market has introduced a new low-risk way to access fresh groceries, perfectly timed with the Easter long weekend.
The market today launched a pre-order and collect drive-through service, which is now available alongside existing options of home delivery and in-store pick-up.
Shop staples such as fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, eggs, flour, fresh pasta and milk as well as take-home meals and a range of specialty items including cheese, olive oil, meats and seafood all from the comfort of your car.
The drive-through zone is located on Gouger Street in front of Zuma Caffe and Marino Meat and Food Store. On collection days, staff will pick-up orders and deliver them directly to vehicles.
The new service will be available every Tuesday and Friday from 2pm until 6pm. This week’s collection days will be Tuesday and Thursday, due to the Good Friday public holiday.
“As we all adjust to a new way of living and working as a result of the coronavirus, we understand that people may not be able to make it out of the house, or shop as they normally would,” said Adelaide Central Market general manager, Jodie Kannane.
“Customers will be now able to shop for all their weekly essentials without having to leave the car. Best of all, they will be supporting our local traders and the extensive network of small businesses who supply the market, in what has been a very challenging start to the year for small businesses.”
To place an order, contact the trader directly (either by email or over the phone) and nominate a pick-up time within the designated collection hours. Multiple grocery orders can be made through individual traders, which will be grouped together for pick-up and delivery.
