Chocolate’s good. Gin’s better.

This boozy advent calendar, curated by online gin marketplace Speakeasy Alice, swaps out the former for the latter. There’s one 30-millilitre tipple for each of the 12 days leading up to Christmas – or “Ginmas”.

Boutique gins from Australia sit alongside international counterparts from countries such as the UK, Italy, Belgium, Finland and Germany. Speakeasy Alice imports Kalevala Gin – which currently isn’t available anywhere else in Australia – direct from Finland.

A mix of gin styles makes up the dozen: there’s barrel-aged, sloe, London Dry and botanical. And each comes with serving guidelines, tonic recommendations and garnish suggestions. The tasting notes were illustrated by Australian artist Leo Greenfield.

There’s also a shrunk-down four-pack, and most of the gins are available for individual purchase in regular-sized bottles.

Speakeasy Alice’s 12 Days of Ginmas is available online for $165.
