More than a music festival, Womadelaide is a feast for all your senses. In addition to the rock-solid line-up – which this year included Angelique Kidjo taking on Talking Heads, a powerhouse performance by Christine and the Queens and a show-stopping set by Palestinian DJ, Sama – the event is a smorgasbord of world cuisines and striking sights.
Among the Moreton Bay fig trees and natural hues of Botanic Park came a technicolour explosion – and not just because of Artonik’s The Colour of Time parade. Broadsheet’s street-style photographer Meaghan Coles captured a sea of colourful prints, floaty florals, vivid pinks and oranges, and a touch of sequins. Punters came dressed to impress, but comfort was key: bum bags and flats were out in force.
