Street Style: Slow Fashion Festival 2019

In the long-abandoned former Dazzeland space at the top of the Myer Centre, some of the country’s top sustainable labels hit the runway for Slow Fashion Festival last Friday.

A tightly curated selection from Good Studios, Autark, Reswim, Kowtow, Arnsdorf, Kings of Indigo and Denimsmith were on show alongside vintage Comme des Garcons, Issey Miyake, Dries Van Noten, Jil Sander, Alexander McQueen and Helmut Lang, plus a new collection made from pre-loved garments and dead stock.

Off the runway, guests came dressed in a mix of designer vintage and pre-loved wares and cult European labels such as Vetements and Ganni, and many repped local designers. There were white sneakers; chunky shoes and platforms; bright florals; bold, clashing prints; and boiler suits. Broadsheet photographer Meaghan Coles was there to capture the best looks.
