Australian beauty giant Mecca Maxima will open its first Adelaide store at Westfield Marion tomorrow.
The supersized stores are already in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane and Perth. Organisers are expecting lines of more than 2000 customers from 7am.
“We hope that this exceeds the expectations of the thousands of Adelaide customers who have been patiently waiting for Mecca Maxima for so many years,” says Jacob Stanley, Mecca head of education.
The 350-plus square metre “beauty playground” was designed by O’Neil Langan Architects (known for its work on international retailers Bobbi Brown, Victoria’s Secret and NARS). It will be home to Mecca’s new signature brand, Mecca Max, which recently launched a 206-product line.
“The store creates a really fun, interactive shopping experience that is super dynamic and constantly evolving,” says Stanley. “[It’s] going to bring a whole new line-up of brands in a fast-paced, high-energy shopping environment.”
Expect more than 60 sought-after make-up labels, including MECCA exclusives NARS, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Smashbox, bareMinerals and Hourglass. There will also be skin- and hair-care favourites such as Mario Badescu, Kate Somerville, Drunk Elephant, Frank Body and Bumble & Bumble.
The store will feature a beauty bar for make-up applications and skin consultations; digital look-books of styles and trends; and a Beauty Lab for tutorials on different techniques, tips and tricks.
The official launch kicks off tomorrow at 7am with free “glitter makeovers”, goodie bags and more than $75,000 worth of prizes to giveaway. Doors open at 9am. Customers must spend $85 to win from the Mecca Beauty Bank.
