Gemma Vendetta has worked as a make-up artist and vintage hair stylist since 2007. Now she’s launching her own natural cosmetics range, GV.
“Every day we're exposed to over 12,000 chemicals, in our health and beauty products and the environment,” Vendetta says. “GV takes a stand against unnecessary chemical ingredients.”
A diagnosis of multiple sclerosis at the age of 26 inspired Vendetta to create a line of cosmetics that perform at a professional level, without disrupting the body’s immune response. GV products are suitable for people with skin sensitivities and for use post-surgery; after laser treatments and chemotherapy. “The products are non-carcinogenic and non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores),” she says.
The “100 per cent cruelty-free”, vegan products are manufactured in Adelaide and made from naturally derived ingredients. The mineral range includes foundation, bronzer, blush, highlighter and lipstick. For an all-rounder and make-up-kit staple try the BB/CC cream (beauty balm and colour correction).
Vendetta launches the range tonight at Brick+Mortar with live make-up demonstrations, food from Vanilla Rose Cakery and Forage & Feast and wines from Down The Rabbit Hole.
