Somewhat Eternal Diner Club at Ace
Contemporary gallery Adelaide Contemporary Experimental (Ace) will team up with chef Muine Kamleh for a one-night-only event to celebrate Lebanese Australian artist Justine Youssef’s rich multi-sensory installation Somewhat Eternal. Guests will be seated in the gallery surrounded by artworks and floral sculptures by Studio Botanic. Local favourite Alpha Box & Dice will provide wine pairings on the night.
Kamleh will draw on his Syrian heritage to create a feast that echoes the exhibition's themes of ritual and connection to land.
Somewhat Eternal is a mixed media exhibition that centres on a video of Youssef’s aunt, shot in Lebanon. Youssef also exhibits scented textiles and uses the aromas of plants, such as damask rose and Lebanese cedar, to highlight the relationship between occupation and the land.
