This month Adelaide’s Russian bar Red October is going cross-cultural with a week-long celebration inspired by Munich’s famous Oktoberfest – Red Oktoberfest.
For five days the kitchen will swap modern Russian fare for Oktoberfest staples such as pork hock, sausages, onion rings, steak, venison Wiener schnitzels and baked camembert.
The beer taps will pour special brews by guest brewers Barossa Valley Brewing, 4 Pines, Mismatch, Feral Brewing, Lobethal Bierhaus and Hills Cider before a “tap run-out party” on the final day (with discounted beers until sold out). The kitchen will be closed during the party but there’ll be limited food options such as sausages and fries cooked by owners Roman Tazhdynov and Marina Tazhdynova.
There will also be lucky-draw prizes and beer mugs to take home.
