The current state of world affairs has left many of us needing some relief. Over the weekend, that relief came in the form of WOMADelaide – a four-day celebration of peace, unity, music and culture.

Among the Moreton Bay fig trees of Botanic Park, this year’s festival – its 25th –appeared to take on a much larger role than that of arts and culture festival. It was a soothing antidote, featuring a diverse program of world beats, messages of inclusion and conservation, and a nightly fire installation, The Exodus of Forgotten Peoples, exploring particularly pertinent themes of migration.

There was also rain – and lots of it. But the downpour and drizzle didn’t stop the crowds turning out. We were there to capture them.
