Adelaide’s boutique music festivals in lush wine country just keep coming. This time it’s Handpicked Festival at Langhorne Creek’s Lake Breeze Wines.
Radio favourites San Cisco, The Jezebels, Matt Corby and Jet will take the stage among 100-year-old gums, sprawling lawns and rows of vines. Jimmy & the Mirrors; The Winter Gypsy; Leo; and Alana Jagt make up the local contingent.
Enter the Food Garden to refuel with Popsicool, Let Them Eat, La Cantina Co and La Creperie food trucks, or head to The Barrel Bar – created out of a five-metre-high wall of vintage wine barrels – for a Lake Breeze moscato, rosé or signature red.
There’s also a Cocktail Forest featuring a cocktail bar and tastings by local producers Red Cacao Chocolatier and Paris Creek B.D. Farm. Sample artisan chocolates and biodynamic and organic cheeses while you meet the maker, then visit The Lane marketplace for locally made art, crafts, jewellery and homewares.
Those lucky enough to have nabbed a ticket to Tent City can settle in for the night among 500 other campers. Otherwise pack a picnic blanket and rally the squad.
Handpicked Festival is on Saturday November 11 from 1pm at Lake Breeze Wines. Tickets are available at handpickedfestival.com.
