Feast Festival Pride March and Opening Night Street Party

Sat 11th November, 2017
Raj House
54 Hyde St, Adelaide
Adelaide’s queer arts and cultural festival opens this weekend.

Four days out from the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey results, members of Adelaide’s LGBTIQ+ community and their allies will march in the name of love, diversity and pride.

The 2017 Feast Festival Pride March – expected to be the biggest yet – kicks off at Light Square at 6.30pm before moving through Morphett and Gouger streets to Victoria Square.

The opening-night party – the festival’s 21st birthday celebration – continues at Feast hub Raj House and on Hyde Street. A packed music line-up features Adelaide festival regulars Electric Fields, Mary’s Divas, DJ MumDad and headliner Joanne (behind ’90s hit Jackie), backed by a bevy of Adelaide drag stars. Expect singalongs in full force.

The 16-day festival includes more than 70 shows across visual art, music, cabaret, theatre, talks and more. It’s supported by Feast ambassadors AFLW Crows co-captain Erin Phillips, visual artist Raymond Zada, and award-winning drag performer Trevor Ashley.

The 2017 Feast Festival runs from November 11 to 26. The opening night party kicks off at 6pm. Tickets are $10 for pre-sale or $20 at the door. Age 15-plus.
