Features
Dulwich Bakery is an Adelaide institution, best known for its award-winning vanilla slice. Founded in 2003 by third-generation baker, Wayne Duffy, the brand has eleven locations throughout the city, but the original Dulwich Avenue store – and its unmistakable orange interior – remains a go-to for a quick bite to eat or a freshly baked loaf of country-style bread. Much like the other locations, this one is light and spacious, with ample seating inside and a few tables outside.
Around 200 products are available in-store – expect a selection of family-sized pies (the chunky beef is a favourite), quiches, and cakes as well as the ever-popular sausage rolls. The aforementioned vanilla slice has won first prize at the Royal Adelaide Show numerous times, and the chocolate doughnuts sells out often. If you’re not a pastry fan, most stores have a sandwich bar, and of course, coffee.
