Features
This is the fourth location for owner-baker Jonny Pisanelli’s Abbots and Kinney. It opened on Croydon’s Elizabeth Street – in the former Red Door Bakery site next door to Billy’s Table – in early 2019.
Pisanelli’s signature pastries are turned out daily, along with traditional savoury items. There will be a focus on breads, with sourdoughs, ciabattas, baguettes and more all baked in-store and served charcuterie style.
There’s a gelato cart out front, with flavours blended daily at the bakery’s commercial kitchen, just five minutes away in Albert Park. You’ll find all-natural and vegan varieties – as well as custom flavours for events and weddings.
Another difference here is the coffee. Abbots and Kinney’s CBD outlets have always used beans from Adelaide roasters D’Angelo Coffee, but at Croydon the house blend comes courtesy of Sydney’s White Horse Coffee.
