58 Iparrityi is likely to become a landmark new property in the city's south-west. The new building is a residential development that’s part of a wider plan to develop Whitmore Square/Iparrityi by City of Adelaide.
The new residential development will have just 11 homes up for grabs. Each two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment is designed by Enzo Caroscio Architecture and the architects have engaged local artists to fit-out the luxury homes. Ceramicist Samantha Faehrmann (Butter and Gravy) is making bespoke basins for every bathroom and the lobby will be decorated with commissioned artworks including a floral installation by Nadia Travaglini (Studio Botanic) and words by Durkhanai Ayubi (author and co-owner of Parwana Afghan Kitchen).
The building’s name is connected to a prominent Kaurna elder who played an important role in passing on language and culture. Iparrityi is another name for Whitmore Square, which all residents will overlook from their Juliet balconies. Each apartment will also have a loggia – a gallery or room that is open to the elements – and arched windows. Plus, residents will have access to a shared electric vehicle.
In a statement, director Enzo Caroscio says they’ve “created homes that feel part of the city with visual connections to the green square and city skylines”. Developers Studio Simpatico plan to start building the property in October 2021, and potential buyers can register their interest from Monday May 3. As 58 Iparrityi will be a mixed-use building, we can also expect ground floor shops and cafes as part of the new development. We’ll update you on the developments as we hear more.
