The Sparkke Change Beverage Company has launched its first Red Ale, “Climate Change is a Burning Issue”. The hoppy American Red Ale is currently on tap at Sparkke at the Whitmore and throughout January 25 per cent of sales will be donated to the Kangaroo Island Mayoral Relief and Recovery Bushfire Fund.

Africola’s Duncan Welgemoed is pulling together some of Australia’s best food talent to raise money for bushfire relief. He’ll be auctioning tickets to seven intimate world-class dinners. Chefs getting involved include Ben Cooper (Chin Chin), Shannon Martinez (Smith & Daughters) and Morgan McGlone (Belle’s Hot Chicken), plus Adelaide’s Emma McCaskill (Sparkke at the Whitmore), Shannon Fleming (Lot 100), Quang Nguyen (Devour, Noi Vietnamese and Shubui) and Welgemoed. Jock Zonfrillo's fine diner is auctioning a table for a group of 12 on your choice of Saturday or Sunday lunch (an 18-course tasting menu with matched wines) in January or February. Adelaide musician Naomi Keyte is playing a gig at the Wheaty on Sunday January 12 and donating 100 per cent of ticket sales to the CFS and the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Network. Jacob Whitelock of Saint Jacques and Harvey Lee Parke are also playing. Tickets are $10 at the door, and doors open at 4pm.

SA Bushfire Benefit
A bunch of Adelaide folk musicians have joined forces to stage a Bushfire Benefit Concert on Sunday January 12 from 2.30pm to 7pm at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel. All proceeds will go directly to those most affected by the devastating 2019 Adelaide Hills bushfires. Event organisers are partnering with the Hut Community Centre based in Aldgate to ensure all funds are channelled directly to those in immediate need. The line-up includes The Yearlings Band, Ollie English, Kelly Menhennett, Courtney Robb & Snooks La Vie (ex Hiptones) and more.Tickets are $15 (+ booking fee).
