Every year more than 200,000 healthy pets find themselves in Australia’s pounds and shelters, but PETstock is determined to change that.
On Sunday February 4, between 10am and 2pm, PETstock stores around the country will welcome pet rescue organisations along with homeless animals hoping to find forever-homes. It's part of National Pet Adoption Day, a joint initiative between PETstock and not-for-profit animal rescue organisation PetRescue.
Most rescue pets were house pets once, so are already trained. They're also typically health-checked, de-sexed, vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas. Behavioural assessments mean you know exactly what you're getting too.
Last year the initiative found homes for 500 pets. PETstock is hoping to increase that number in 2018, and with pets of all types, sizes, breeds and ages available for adoption, people are sure to find a perfect match.
