Hospitality veterans Alex and Alice Perisic (The Gallery) are behind Any Given Sunday, a corner store turned cafe serving well-made coffee and pastries.
The concise menu mostly features local producers, with coffee from White Horse Coffee, pastries and pies from Skala Bakery, and some classic flavoured milk from Nippy’s. But a standout offering is gibanica – a buttery Serbian filo with cheese filling, which Alex’s mother makes with a secret family recipe.
The couple refurbished the space with a focus on simplicity and comfort. There’s seating inside or al fresco, with lead hooks for dogs to safely wait while their owners re-caffeinate. In keeping with the site’s former life as a corner store, one of the walls of is adorned with essential supplies like eggs, cereal and various milks available to purchase on your way out.
