Breakfast cocktails? You’d better believe it. At Lindes Lane, they’re on the menu, right alongside the beans on toast and Bircher muesli. Try the breakfast martini – a combination of gin, Cointreau, house-made marmalade and orange zest.

If you’d rather a coffee, rest assured. Co-owner Ian Callahan, who also owns specialty coffee venue Bar 9, has brought all his enthusiasm with him. Expect the same full-bodied blends, as well as a selection of single origin coffee, with tasting notes and sourcing information readily available for those who share his passion.

The space is all about transition, from cafe to wine bar. Inside is an eclectic mix of plush armchairs, colourful plastic chairs and timber benches, with the bar decorated in psychedelic stripes. Outside is just as comfortable, with large industrial heaters and blankets to cosy up with wine in hand (and maybe a cheesy jaffle too). There’s also a hidden basement with a speakeasy feel to it - it's open on Fridays.

Though the kitchen is tiny, equipped with just two induction cookers, two ovens and a fryer. Still, the kitchen serves globally inspired fusion food that has you covered from breakfast until well after dinner. Share a plate of Asian sashimi tuna nachos with sriracha and wasabi, or order the balsamic and honey glazed pork cheeks and keep it all to yourself.
