The grand marbled lobbies and moonlit fine dining of Manhattan are the inspiration for Petar and Wendy Belosevic’s (Zhivago) supper club.

Guests can check in their coats at the ground-level lobby before descending the stairs below a large chandelier. In the basement, there’s a choice of three different areas in which to spend the evening.

The first room, the Soho Lounge, features a luxurious velvet sofa, which seats 55 people, snaking its way around the whole room. It’s a space for walk-in guests to enjoy a drink from the main bar and some small plates to share.

Next, three flush subway-tiled bars, called the Sidecar Bars, greet guests who want to stand and sip. Then there’s the Manhattan Lounge. Classic booth seating lines the room, and high-top communal tables are a place to sit and imbibe. This space is intended for more formal dining, with a full menu available until late. Dishes such as steak tartare and snapper carpaccio are made to share.

In the warmer months, an alleyway beer garden provides a sunny escape from below the ground.
