Red Lime Shack is more than just a cafe. It’s a place for people to connect with others and give back to the community. Established in 2012 by Steph Taylor, it’s grown into a social hub for Port Adelaide through its community-focused initiatives.

Suspended coffees provide hot drinks for those in need; and clothing collection bins and the signature Red Ripple Effect (complete seven good deeds in seven days for a free coffee) encourages people to think beyond their own needs. Red Lime Shack also supports local markets, festivals and fundraising causes.

There’s a cosy assortment of tables, couches and quiet nooks providing plenty of options to relax inside and outside. Grab a book from the free book exchange, admire the regular art exhibitions, or chill over a coffee or quick bite.

The menu features nutritious vegan, vegetarian and raw food options. For breakfast, a bowl of fragrant shack-made muesli with fresh fruit and banana ice cream is a winner. Lunchtime is all about the sweet-potato burger, served on a whole-wheat bun with salad, onion jam and tangy tahini mayo. Dessert options include raw lime pie and raw vegan bliss balls.

Finish with a fresh smoothie, made in-house with fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables. The coffee comes from Campos, and you can opt for Paris Creek biodynamic milk, soy milk or coconut milk.
