Pixie & The Hawk
The menu at this Henley Beach Road cafe is vegan-, vegetarian- and meat-eater-friendly.
It serves creative breakfast classics such as a French-toast-croissant hybrid, which is stuffed with blueberries, spiced ricotta and topped with roasted almonds and maple syrup. There’s Fruits and Pudd: sticky black rice with scorched pineapple, fresh kiwi, toasted sesame, cacao nibs and coconut cream. And for lunch, almond falafels with hummus, roast tomatoes, beetroot, cucumber ribbons, kasundi (an Indian tomato relish) and Fleurieu labneh.
It serves Five Senses Coffee and focuses on manually brewed options alongside espresso stuff.
The fit-out is made up of vintage furniture reworked and spruced up by the cafe’s owners, such as old classroom tables. Local artist J2SKE was enlisted to paint a mural in the rear courtyard.
