Fourth Hill Providore
Fourth Hill is a quiet, laidback providore set in a renovated barn. The inviting venue was four years in the making for Pablo Theodoros and the team behind the Stanley Bridge Tavern, which is directly across the road.
On the breakfast menu: a cabinet of pastries, a gooey omelette with spinach, provolone and bacon; seasonal fruit bowls; and a comforting serve of house baked beans with a baked egg and focaccia. For lunch, panini and focaccias, daily changing pastas, Roman-style pizza by the slice, and the Fourth Hill Muffaletta, a stacked sandwich layered with salami, mortadella, buffalo mozzarella and roasted capsicum, eggplant and zucchini.
Drinks keep it local with Adelaide Hills wines, SA beers and spirits, and Mischief Brew soft drinks alongside coffee from Victorian roaster Five Senses.
The space welcomes diners with the scent of warm bread and streams of light flowing through its large windows. The renovated stone building is a mix of modern and rustic (chopping boards hang on fresh white walls, timber and stone sits next to concrete floors and marble counters), with pops of colour from rows of local produce (pasta, sauces and oils), Etikette candles and hand-thrown stoneware available to purchase.
The place is often filled with locals looking for a coffee and croissant on their morning commute, or a cosy place to catch up with friends and family. In addition to its daily operations, Fourth Hill Providore is also available as a function space in the evenings.
