Coffee and beer taps are rarely heard in the same sentence, but at First Pour you can get cold brew poured straight from a keg. Using a nitrogen-gas system, cold brew coffee and iced tea can be poured draught beer style, straight into the glass.

If that’s not your thing, get your caffeine fix via Chemex, AeroPress, cold drip, filter, French press or standard espresso style from the La Marzocco machine. But with all those novel brewing methods on offer, why stick with a latte?

First Pour originated as a showroom for Veneziano roasters but evolved into a cafe and brunch spot when there was a clear gap in the Melbourne Street landscape. The focus was on creating an interactive brew bar where customers could interact with their barista.

The food menu includes a range of baguettes, paninis, pies and baked goods provided by Jenny’s Bakery and The Delicious Biscuit.

Coffee beans and brewing equipment are also available to purchase. Previously a bookshop, the space maintains some historical quirks while incorporating pieces that reflect the collaborative atmosphere, such as the vintage communal table and barista level bar.
