Features
The Brompton Hotel is a longstanding heritage pub serving elevated bistro classics, share plates, and local booze from the inner west. It’s run by Duxton Pubs, which also owns the Saracens Head, The Lion and The Crafers and other venues.
The menu taps into nostalgic flavours and European influences, with seafood-centric highlights including anchovies with blistered tomatoes and caramelised onion; smoked mackerel with cucumber and yoghurt; and a spanner crab omelette with a mornay glaze.
Those are joined by other Euro bar snacks like burrata with heirloom tomatoes, a chorizo scotch egg, and a croque monsieur. Larger dishes have included Berkshire pork loin with preserved lemon, roasted sugarloaf cabbage with seeded mustard miso and grains, and a crumbed-to-order chicken Kyiv with cabbage slaw and Lyonnaise potatoes.
The concise drinks menu includes local beers and spirits from the community of craft breweries and distilleries in the inner-west area, plus a 100-bottle wine list with a solid international presence.
