The Hawker Street Cafe has provided locals with quality coffee for years. Captained by Michael Tomljenovic and Hilda Zuvela since 2009, the space is decorated in vintage décor and feels instantly welcoming and cosy, much like being in a friend’s home.
Knowledgeable baristas help guide your coffee purchase, with roasts selected from Five Senses. There’s a range of different milks to cater for almost any dietary requirement: coconut, soy, almond and the usual cows’ milk from Fleurieu.
The menu caters to any taste and dietary requirement, be it vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, or avowed carnivore. With a dedicated local following right from the beginning, the duo has been able to create a diverse menu featuring items such as spinach and herbed polenta with poached egg; and grilled corn bread with chorizo.
The open plan space offers the opportunity to sit back and watch the busy kitchen turn locally sourced produce into delicious meals.
