Loc Bottle Bar is where Adelaide hospitality workers go to hang out on their days off. It might have something to do with the rotating cast of guest chefs, who make astonishingly good use of an induction cooker and outdoor barbeque. Or perhaps it’s the dynamic offering of bottles and pours from the state’s most interesting winemakers.

Olivia Moore’s spot on Hindmarsh Square is beloved by chefs and bartenders for both reasons. But Loc lives up to its “left-of-centre” initials in another way: an extremely affable service style that removes the barrier between staff and guests. Everyone who comes here is welcome, and no one leaves without trying something that sticks with them for weeks – or months – afterward.
