We’ve heard it called the best steak ever eaten, a splurge that was more than worthwhile. It’s a big call, but team at The Cut Bar & Grill certainly know how to make their patrons feel at ease in a warm and cosy setting, and just a little bit in awe. Award-winning head chef James Privett knows exactly how to cook French-bistro cuisine to perfection, from the steak, to the chicken, to the shoestring fries with horseradish aioli. Not to mention the delectable array of cocktails available – one of which is a little like drinking pavlova.
Families dine here on special occasions, as do young couples, elderly couples and groups of friends looking to spend some extra cash on a succulent steak. Its underground location adds some spunk to the décor, with candles suspended from the low ceiling. You can choose to sit in a booth, spread across a large dining table or beneath a vintage lampshade on comfortable leather chairs. The room may be dimly lit, but it’s not lacking in character; in fact it has a somewhat modern chic feel. This is one hip steak restaurant and it’s not to be missed.
