Drawing inspiration from the traditional Aussie pub and mixing it with influences from US neighbourhood pizzerias, The Forresters has a friendly local feel that crosses borders.

It’s by the same crew that as The Norfolk and The Carrington and so you know it’s going to be well run. With exposed wood beams, a pitched ceiling, clear corrugated roofing to let in loads of light and an internal garden with laden citrus trees, chillies and tomatoes, this addition has a wholesome, farmhouse feel about it. Wagon-wheel lighting and a straw roof in the back bar just add to the effect, making this a cross between a western and outback favourite and creating a truly relaxed atmosphere, with the food adding just a touch of Italy.

Pizzas are of the Neapolitan style (think chewy bases with select A-grade toppings), while there is the promise of rotisserie dinners (meat changes for each day of the week, so keep an eye out for Thursday goat), osso bucco mains and well-loved pastas like real-deal carbonara. There’s also a ‘Feed Me’ $40 banquette menu and weekday happy hour from 5pm to 6pm.

Grab a spot by the huge windows that breezily open out to the street, or slide into a booth for a cosier tête-à-tête. This is a pub-cum-trattoria with soul, and it really feels like a great spot to just relax with a group of mates on a Sunday afternoon.
