Animating an otherwise lifeless morning in the scandalous back alleys of Kings Cross, a pageant of eccentric customers loiters around the narrow entrance to Room 10.

It’s not just the back alley ambiance that attracts this eclectic crowd. Room 10 is producing some of the finest espresso in East Sydney. Their Dark Horse blend is roasted by Mecca ) and is revaluated each season to ensure optimum palatability. Also on offer are an incredible selection of high-grade single estate/origin coffees – a number of which are personally sourced by Paul Geshos from Mecca– and an impressive array of loose-leaf teas by Tea Craft.

This hole in the wall pulls together a broader menu than you might expect. Daniel Jackson (formally of Clipper and Clover) has put together a menu with simplicity and top-shelf produce in mind. Items like the breakfast rice, slow cooked beef sarnie and hand-crafted muesli are made lovingly in-house, while an award-winning assortment of pastries are picked up daily from Black Star patisserie in Newtown.
