eil Perry’s flagship restaurant Rockpool, located in The Rocks, has announced a change of name after more than two decades. But don’t panic, it’s just an addition.

Rockpool on George is the new title, so it’s not going to be a difficult shift. The tweak to the name has arrived to help avoid confusion between the original Rockpool (107 George Street, The Rocks) and sister restaurant Rockpool Bar & Grill (66 Hunter Street, Sydney).

"We decided to officially change the restaurant's name to Rockpool on George as so many customers confuse it with Rockpool Bar & Grill and book the wrong restaurant,” says Perry of the change. “Hopefully this small change will put an end to the confusion."

Apparently it’s something that the team has been discussing for a while, finding that many customers arrive at the wrong restaurant for their bookings, or simply don’t show-up. The Rockpool group hopes that the name will make bookings easier for customers, without losing that trademark for which it is so well known.
