Guerrilla in the Mist

Glebe’s burgeoning bar and dining presence has just been bolstered with the addition of Guerrilla Bar & Restaurant.

S

ituated in a big old two-storey terrace, this casual bar and eatery is helmed by co-owners Richard Dobson, Tim Pullen (ex Cowra Smokehouse) and Sven Tydeman. Furnished with a jumble of lounges and ornate interior pieces, including chandeliers and cherubs, the high ceilings and exposed brick make for a comfortable lounge room feel with a sophisticated inflection.

Zane Heemi, who cut his teeth at Becasse, heads the kitchen with a menu that offers a concise but sound selection of plates and dishes to share. Served on wooden boards, hand-cut chips go down well with dishes of Szechuan pepper calamari or chicken nuggets with chipotle mayo. The menu is set to change regularly, serving classics with a twist based on seasonality.

For drinking, a concise but very palatable array of Australian and New Zealand wines compliment a tidy selection of beer and cider, providing the opportunity to test out some great offerings from our own backyard.

Glebe’s newest watering hole equates to another solid addition to the 2037 postcode.
