Yearnings for the start of the summer festival season help propel us through the colder months. First up is Harvest Festival.

W

ith the weather warming up in November, it’s the perfect time to head outdoors and soak up some sun with some quality music.

After the debuting last year with one of the better line-ups of the summer, the Harvest Festival is back with a host of exciting acts.

While there are still plenty more performers to be added to the list, the pool of outstanding international acts on the bill has already got us excited. Indeed, the list starts with long time favourite Beck, Sigur Ros, Grizzly Bear, Mike Patton’s Mondo Cane, Ben Folds Five, Santigold, Beirut, Cake, The Dandy Warhols, The Black Angels, Chromatics, Ozomatli, Liars, Fuck Buttons, The War on Drugs and Dark Dark Dark.

The program also includes vintage, holistic and arts markets, gourmet food and drink stalls and various sideshows and stages.

Melburnians should pencil in November 11 and Sydneysiders November 17 for an outdoor romp amid a plethora of sensual pleasures, live art and visual installations. Hopefully, the much-publicised queues and transport problems of last year won’t be repeated at Parramatta Park this time around.

Harvest Festival plays Saturday November 17 at Parramatta Park. Tickets go on sale 9am June 28.
