The Prince of Wales occupies a large, Art Deco building facing Acland Street in the heart of St Kilda. The downstairs pub is well served by a large, responsive bar and has some pool tables and bar stools strewn throughout for casual get togethers and groups. Large open windows allow for perfect people watching and there is an outside area looking onto bustling street for smokers and sun-lovers alike. Downstairs can get pretty busy at peak hours but it is still congenial and relaxed. The bar is also one of the oldest, known gay-friendly venues in Melbourne. The bar offers up some a selection of beer, and there is traditional pub grub available (try out Party Pie Friday). This pub caters to a large, varied crowd of footy fans and to those who are after a quiet cold one in the sun.
