Hairy Little Sista is the much younger sibling of Hairy Canary. It is defined by an imaginative tapas menu, extensive booze selection, and of course, the association with big brother down the road.
That said, the menu is far from straight Spanish, with Hairy Little Sista taking on more a North African feel, despite Nepalese, Indian and New Zealand chefs forming the majority in the kitchen. Dishes like eggplant chips with coriander, plus pumpkin, chickpea and spinach salad and chicken meatballs reveal the place’s diversity. Ornamental pizza is designed and cooked over at Hairy Canary before being sauntered around to Sista on request.
Share plates range from crispy pork belly on spicy apple chutney, mixed mushroom croquettes and lamb pinchos with mojo verde (green salsa). Paella is also a popular dish for punters wishing to kick on well into the evening. But it’s Hairy Little Sista’s Middle Eastern-style buffalo wings with bleu de Laqueuille (French blue cheese) dipping sauce that sends everyone wild.
