It seemed that when this inner city bar opened, it was suffering an identity crisis. With a host of different opening hours, and a small cocktail, wine and snacking menu, it was hard to know what you were there for. But that has all changed, with the owners taking a decidedly bold move to becoming a whisky bar.

The back bar is filling out with increasingly rare and interesting blends, and single malts. While it will be some time before the selection resembles the gargantuan collection amassed by Baranows in Hawthorn, you can’t help but be drawn here. The location is convenient and, better yet, the prices are plain ridiculous. This provides a great opportunity to expand your whiskey palate and not feel out of pocket if these ventures are a failure.

A clever addition of a whisky flight allows you cheap access to three different malts with a flight to suit any budget. Settle in at the bar and let the small and attentive team attend to you and you might just learn a thing or two.
