Music reigns supreme at this decade old establishment hidden off Flinders Lane in true Melbourne bar style. Every night you can expect to hear samples from rock’s repertoire, from contemporary rock to retro and Brit-Pop with some techno thrown in as a garnish. There are regular DJs and a weekly timetable so check to see which night suits your musical interests.

One of the big attractions to Cherry is free entry on some nights and the laid back vibe that permeates the stripped down, ‘we’re here to dance’ space with a large open dance floor. Décor is no frills black with seating in hot demand but at Cherry you should really be on your feet. The space is full most nights with a sartorially mixed crowd so you can’t help but feel at ease. Jeans and a t-shirt are all you need.

The bar is neatly tucked into the corner for those seeking refreshment and respite from the dance floor. The bar offers mostly beers (both international and local) as well as basic spirits. Cherry is a great place for shameless dancing into the very early hours of the morning.
