lthough we’ve afforded plenty of attention on cocktails at The Broadsheet Bar, presented by Schweppes, it shouldn’t be forgotten that we have a soft spot for the grape too. We partnered with local wine purveyors Blackhearts & Sparrows to create a wine list that showcases the breadth and quality of Victoria’s wine regions.

A family business, Blackhearts & Sparrows is committed to removing the mystery from wine. Run by siblings Jessica and Paul Ghaie, with three locations in Windsor, Brunswick East and North Fitzroy, Blackhearts & Sparrows is the antithesis of a scary, pretentious wine store. Customers are encouraged to ask questions and helpful staff aim to find wines that drink beyond their price.

Community is also a focus at Blackhearts & Sparrows, with tastings and events held regularly. Their Blackhearts Wine Club offers invites to these events as well as exclusive deals on mixed wine and beer packs and regional picks.

The Broadsheet Bar wine list reflects this focus on accessibility, as well as Blackhearts & Sparrows’ support of independent Australian producers. We’ve picked exclusively Victorian wineries and are offering a selection of reds and whites by the glass.
