Rice Queen, located below the Panama Dining Room, shares the same spacious and casual ambience. You are instantly hit with a sense of the orient, with large blue flowers covering the walls and rice-bowel-chopstick arrangements surrounding the roomy, round tables that are perfect for a casual mid-week meal with friends. The food is Asian inspired covering South-East Asia, China and Japan among other flavours. This mix of cuisines is all the more reason to share the dishes among your dinner party.

Starters include dumplings, and corn cakes with a special chilli sauce that may have some reaching for the water jug. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, such as the silken tofu with wakame salad, or the Thai curry of Chinese broccoli, baby corn, eggplant and bamboo shoots. Light summer flavours can be found in the filling salads like the shredded rockling with green mango, cashew and green chilli nam jim, or the pork with pear, cucumber and rice noodle.

There is a sense of easy and calm in the room even when the place is filled with diners or those having a cocktail at the bar.
