Situated in the heart of Richmond, Royal Saxon is a bar-come-bistro, and delivers on both accounts. With architects at Six Degrees cleverly designing the double storey venue as a structure within the existing Church Street façade, the Royal Saxon is comfortable in its own skin, offering a relaxing yet vibrant energy enticing both locals and passers-by through its doors. Aesthetically pleasing with its combination of old and new, the space is open and inviting to all kinds of pursuits; be it drinking, dining, catching some rays in the afternoon sun, or people watching.
The Royal Saxon also presents itself as versatile venue, doubling as a dining space. While the outdoor is ideal for a drink in the sun, the indoor area offers a large menu of Italian-slung pub-style dishes on a menu that offers simple pizzas, an array of traditional antipasti dishes, as well some hearty mains such as a charred leg of lamb, house pork sausages and kingfish cooked in a bag.
