Sitting in the bustling end of Smith Street, near Gertrude, is Josie Bones, the brainchild of Masterchef competitors Chris Badenoch and Julia Jenkins.

As seen time and again on the reality show, nose-to-tail and beer was Badenoch’s thing and he has decided to stick to what he knows. Beer is emphasised with a 130-strong list and the option of a 'Beer Flight' of three beers, changing each week. With this in mind, Josie Bones could be seen as more of a bar with food rather than the other way round.

The menu reads like a Meatlover’s dream - in case the giant print of a skinned rabbit on the feature wall didn’t say enough - with items such as scotch eggs, crackling of the day, trotter fritters and black pudding, encouraging shared eating over a beverage. Vegetarians are also well catered for with seven dishes available to order that extends further than being classed as a side, a salad or a dessert.
