The staff at Queensberry Street cafe Twenty & Six Espresso never have the chance to dream about a slow day at work- cafe hunters from all over Melbourne flock here for Proud Mary's house blend (Angel Wings), which wasn't kept a secret for long.

And it definitely means what you think it means: Twenty & Six is serving up a pretty good brew.

The cafe also offers filter/pour-over coffee, a ‘coffee of the day’ and an extensive list of teas to choose from.

Owners Nedin Rahmanovic and Majda Falan – graphic and interior designers respectively –have a profound sense of design and it extends from front of house, all the way to their homey back patio, where they plan to convert the upstairs loft into a design studio.

Offering Brasserie Bread and Kangaroo Island free-range eggs, Twenty & Six’s menu features some of Melbourne's most creative and impeccably presented breakfasts. Dishes such as the ‘Russian’ with vodka and lemon house cured salmon tartare served with dill, preserved lemon labneh and a poached egg, or the Balinese black sticky rice topped with an exotic flower looks almost too good to dig your fork into.

With lines forming on the weekend, it seems Twenty & Six is leaving a lasting impression on North Melbourne.
