Liar Liar is an oasis of very good coffee in the otherwise starved Hawthorn. Started by a group of Western Australians championing Perth’s 5 Senses coffee, this cafe quickly became a destination known for the passionate approach to coffee. In early 2009, Liar Liar was bought and incorporated into the growing St Ali empire.

The coffee offering is very strong, always with a diverse selection to chose from. They use both Five Senses and St Ali roasts and offer a mix of blends and single origins through either the espresso machine, clover or syphon – all notably different drinks.

Liar Liar is yet another Melbourne cafe where you may find yourself waiting for a seat on the weekend – and its location means that it has its fair share of mothers with prams – but the coffee and extensive food menu make it worth the wait.
