Nestled on the corner of Spencer and Stanley Streets in West Melbourne, Junie Moon’s is a playful space complete with retro striped walls, a chandelier made of plastic fruit and a striking mural on the back wall.
Junie Moon's has also garnered a little cult following for its handmade steamed dim sims, a reaction to what she viewed as a lack of quality in similar products throughout the area. The parcels of flavoursome pork, served with chopped spring onion and coriander and finished with a dressing of soy and black sesame seeds are, thanks to their popularity, now a permanent fixture on the menu. However, this isn’t necessarily an Asian-inspired cafe – there are sandwiches available, as well as house-made cakes, all by West. The coffee comes courtesy of Supreme, and its quality only further cements Junie Moon’s place in the Melbourne cafe scene.
