7 Inkerman Street
St Kilda

Tucked off bustling Barkly Street is the iconic Inkr7, the namesake of its very location at 7 Inkerman Street. Pretty straightforward really, and you can expect the cafe itself to be the same. There’s a certain air of casual comfort to Inkr7, one that’s obviously helped draw people back for so many years.

Now somewhat of an institution to the area, these guys don’t mess around when it comes to their breakfast menu. It’s a perfect line-up of the classics: bircher muesli, eggs any way, sandwiches and salads. The coffee isn’t bad either and best drunk with a sweet pastry.

Perhaps it’s the history of the place, but the staff seem to compliment the cafe well and even with a packed house – breakfasters folding newspapers every which way amid plates being rushed to tables – it somehow all feels very relaxed. The long, skinny room can be tricky to navigate with busy diners fillings tables, but continue through to the shady courtyard out back for some sweet city respite, at least for a moment anyway.
