Nestled amongst Armadale’s boutique shops, galleries and antique stores, Grapeseed is a thoughtfully casual cafe from the boys behind city wine bar Punch Lane.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Thursday to Saturday, Grapeseed’s little kitchen is run by Punch Lane’s Martin Pirc and chef/partner Martin Webb. They offer the usual breakfast fare until midday, before stepping it up with dishes like risotto, braised lamb and baked salmon for lunch and dinner.

Floral wall paintings and pastel shades characterise the open-plan dining space. In the far corner, sun shines in over a communal table and an installation of bundled sticks hang from a partially glass ceiling. The food is hearty, the coffee is good and the atmosphere is pleasant. What more could we ask for from this little cafe?
